Rewiring
Whole-Home Rewiring in Clyde Hill, WA
Rewiring an occupied house is mostly a question of access: which walls open, which runs go through the attic or crawl space, and how the house stays liveable meanwhile. We plan that first. Start the conversation on (000) 000-0000.
A rewire replaces the branch circuits, the devices and usually the panel, and it is the right call when the house still has ungrounded two-wire circuits, cloth-sheathed cable, or a mix of patches added at different times. In Clyde Hill the housing stock varies widely, so we scope on what we actually find in the walls rather than on the age on the title.
How it goes
What the job looks like
01
Survey the existing
We open a few representative points and look at what is actually there before pricing anything.
02
Stage the work
The house is split into phases so you keep power and rooms you can live in throughout.
03
Replace and test
Circuits go in phase by phase, each one tested, labelled and signed off as it completes.
Detail
What we watch for
- Access planned, not improvised — attic and crawl runs used wherever they beat cutting into finished rooms
- Grounding brought up to date — every new circuit lands with a proper equipment ground
- Panel replaced as part of it — a rewire that leaves the old panel in place solves half the problem
- Phased so you can stay put — power stays on in the parts of the house we are not working in
Questions
Asked often
Do we have to move out?
Usually not. We stage the work so one area is live while another is open, and we leave you with working power, heat and a usable kitchen at the end of every day. Full moves out are rare and we would say so at survey if yours looked like one.
How disruptive is the wall access?
Less than people expect. Most runs go through the attic or crawl space; where we do need to open a wall we keep cuts small and in predictable places. We agree every access point with you before we start cutting.
